Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is helpful in many circumstances. You may be facing an ongoing mental health concern such as depression or anxiety, or you may have experienced trauma in the past. Perhaps you feel disorganized and are chronically struggling to stay focused. You may want to find more meaning in your relationships with partners, your career, or your family.

Individual counseling provides a space for you to address your concerns with professional support. My approach to counseling maintains that you are the expert in your own life, and that you may benefit from someone pointing out patterns, highlighting strengths, and posing questions for reflection.

Child & Adolescent Counseling

When working with youth, I use a family systems perspective, which means that primary caregivers are included in some way throughout treatment. This looks different for every client based on their particular needs.

Couples & Family Counseling

Families face many challenges in today's world. Family counseling provides a supportive space to address issues such as communication problems, parenting, the addition or loss of family members, honesty, stress from transitions or financial burdens. In addition to helping families work through problems, family counseling enhances relationships and opens up lines of communication.

When working with parents and children, I rely heavily on Family Systems Theory and Collaborative Problem Solving. This research-based model supports the social, emotional, and behavioral development of children. When working with couples, I utilize an eclectic approach, incorporating attachment theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and foundations from the Gottman Method.
